Data Centre Generator Fuel Sample
Our engineers have been on-site at a large data centre, located on the south coast, carrying out fuel sampling on three generator fuel tanks.
In order to get a good representation of the fuel condition, three samples were taken from each tank: from the top; middle and bottom. These samples will be sent to and analysed by an independent laboratory (FA-ST Filtration Analysis Services Technology Ltd).
In addition to this, we’ve also taken samples to carry out sulphur content tests to ensure that the fuel stored doesn’t exceed sulphur levels. Some fuels, particularly older fuel, may not be fit for purpose under the current legislation, so it’s essential to check before the generator is called into action to avoid any infringements.
