Role
As our Generator Service Engineer, you will take ownership of generator servicing and support activities including:
- PPM servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of customer-owned standby diesel generators
- Basic mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis
- Identifying minor remedial works or upgrade recommendations
- Load bank testing and on-load testing
- Fuel sampling and polishing
- Supporting senior engineers on installations, commissioning, and upgrade projects
Location
Based at our Fareham depot, most of your work will be at customer sites across Hampshire and the South Coast, with occasional travel further afield.
Applicants must live within a commutable distance to Fareham – this is not a remote or regionally based position.
Skills and Experience
We are seeking a proactive engineer with transferable skills. Generator experience is a benefit, but not mandatory.
- NVQ level 3 or higher in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent apprenticeship.
- Proven hands-on experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering role (maintenance/servicing).
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
- Ability to obtain police vetting is mandatory (requires UK residency for the last 3 consecutive years).
- 18th Edition (BS7671) certification would be a benefit but is not mandatory.
